Walk for Memories 2019

Our team, Spare a Thought for Dementia, recently participated in the annual Walk for Memories organized by Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto. We fundraised and walked to support research on Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. Telling Our Story: T4Dementia

Students enrolled at Ryerson’s School of Professional Communication collaborated with Dr. Kristine Newman and Jacky Au Duong, CCK, to storyboard, draft, and produce a 3-minute 300-word video about the Spare a Thought for Dementia collaborative.

Dr. Kristine Newman presented a poster at the 2018 Gerontological Nursing Association of Ontario’s Biennial Conference (GNAO 2018), held this year on April 12-13 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. 

Creative Answers to Drive Mental Health Initiatives

On March 13th, 2018, Dr. Kristine Newman and the Centre for Communicating Knowledge hosted a workshop on Active Student Citizenship through the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing’s Student Engagement Initiative.
