Angel Wang is a practicing Registered Nurse in the acute care setting as well as a Master of Nursing student in the thesis stream at Ryerson University.
Her philosophy of “healing yourself is connected with healing others” solidified during her senior year of high school when she became a family caregiver to a loved one who was experiencing severe negative health outcomes and challenging life circumstances. This experience fostered her understanding of the value and the impact of compassionate care to care recipients who are at their most difficult and vulnerable time - which ultimately led her to pursue nursing. Her research interests include gerontechnology, mental health, global health, and HIV/AIDS. She hopes to improve accessibility and reduce health disparities among the elderly population as well as individuals living with HIV/AIDS and mental health issues by advocating for policy changes that will enhance healthcare delivery methods through research and community involvement.
