Ekta Hattangady is a Social Worker at the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. She specializes in working with People with Young Onset Dementia (under 65) and their families.Ekta is the co-founder of Boomers Club, a wellness program for people living with Young Onset Dementias and their families. Boomers Club was represented at the Alzheimer Association International Conference and Alzheimer Europe Conference in 2016. Ekta also founded Young Carers Meetup, a space for carers between 16 – 35 to share experiences and learn from each other. Having been a teen carer to her mother with Young Onset Alzheimer’s, Ekta is passionate about involving youth in fighting stigma faced by people living with dementia and their families. In her spare time, Ekta is an amateur photographer, a fountain pen enthusiast and a blogger.
